A portrait of Xena, the three-toed sloth. She may be slow, but she is strong. She has the grip strength of several gym bros, and the stealth of a master shinobi. Specialised tendons in her hands and feet lock into place, allowing her to hang upside down for long periods of time without wasting any energy. If she loses her grip, she can fall up to 30 metres and survive without injury.
Xena was born with her eyes open, claws sharp, and teeth fully formed. Her hair is specially adapted so she can create her own little portable ecosystem. Just as the rainforest is her home, she is home to a symbiotic array of plants and animals. Algae turns her fur green over time and helps her blend into the rainforest canopy. As her hair is so important, her portrait was painted with a comb.
She embodies a quiet power that needs no recognition or acclaim. Though rarely noticed, her presence is profoundly important to her environment. She achieves greatness through stillness and grace in silence.
